2010 Annual Meeting

LAKELAND VILLAGE COMMUNITY CLUB

TOWN MEETING MINUTES

June 15, 2010

The meeting was called to order at 7:00pm by Diane Wilcox , Board Vice President and Recreation chairman in the absence of Jan Wright, President. Diane introduced the board members who were present. The present chairpersons gave a brief synopsis of their particular responsibilities and activities for the past fiscal year.

Alex Watt, Secretary-Treasurer - absent

Doug Chandler, Security and Nominating

Bruce Jackson, Architectural Committee

Dick Caron, Public Affairs

Barbara Bertsch, Recreation

Kittie Peterson, Block Watch and Maintenance

Craig Patti, new board member, Lake Maintenance

Doug Chandler informed the audience that there is one new Radar Unit operating around the village with supporting software that can provide information as to rates of speed, time of day, etc. This information will be forwarded to the Sheriff's Department. He also stated that two additional cameras have been added to the beach and playground area for a total of four. Activities recorded by these cameras can be viewed by several people on their computers.

There were approximately 13 property owners present plus nine board members and approximately 12 people that did not live in Lakeland but were at the meeting to hear the fire officials speak.

Diane reminded everyone of the August 7th The community picnic is Saturday August 21 from 4:00p - 6:00p. She also advised the audience to send an email or letter to the office if they have comments or complaints regarding issues with neighbors, pets, etc.

Mason County 5 Fire Department gave a one hour presentation with questions and answers regarding the August 17th

Upon conclusion of the fire presentation, Diane invited those people that did not live in Lakeland to leave and the meeting for residents continued with questions and answers regarding the Village.

One resident had a complaint about the vacant lots that are on each side of her property that are overgrown which she thinks causes mice problems. She was informed that she should personally contact each property owner and if this does not satisfy her, the office will write letters to them to ask for brushing out.

One resident asked if the Covenants require someone to take moss off of their roof. A request to clean up a property can be made by the ACC if property becomes unsightly.

There was a discussion regarding snow removal during the winter. It was felt by one resident that the number of residents/taxpayers in Lakeland Village should ensure that the county focus more on this area.

Dog poop issues were discussed and it was suggested that possibly placing dog poop bags on some of the radar unit posts might encourage offenders to clean up after their pets.

Street lighting was also discussed and the manner in which to get additional street lights in a neighborhood. The audience was informed that a request is submitted to the office requesting a street light in a particular area. If the board approves the request, all neighbors affected by the light would have to agree to it before a pole could be placed. PUD provides the pole; the community dues pay for the electricity.

One parent of a teenager suggested that if anyone sees any teenager speeding in the Village that most parents would be receptive to being informed of this activity.

Diane reminded everyone that the Beach Attendants will be returning beginning June 21 and will be in place from noon until 6:00pm 7 days a week.

The meeting was adjourned at 8:45pm.

Recorder,

Joanne Quiring
