CONSTITUTION OF

LAKELAND VILLAGE LADIES CLUB

REVISION JULY, 2009

Article I - Purpose

The purpose of this non-profit club is:

Section 1. To provide an opportunity for organized golf and related events.

Section 2. To encourage knowledge of, and adherence to, the rules and etiquette of golf.

Section 3. To generally promote interest in golf and develop good sportsmanship among women amateur golfers in competitive events.

Section 4. To provide competitive events for women amateur golfers.

Section 5. To provide a nine-hole program for beginning golfers and those wishing to participate in such a program.

Article II - Membership

Section 1. Membership is open to all women members of LakeLand Village Golf and Country Club.

Section 2. All members must be 18 years of age or older.

Article III - Fiscal Year

The fiscal year shall be from January 1stst

Article IV - Elected Officers

Section 1. The elected officers of this club shall be Captain, Co-Captain, Secretary, Treasurer, Tournament Chairperson, Handicap Chairperson, Membership Chairperson, Social Chairperson, and Invitational Chairperson. Elections will be held on a Tuesday in September of each election year.

Section 2. These officers shall be elected annually by the membership.

Section 3. The term of office shall be one year, January 1stst

Section 4. Duties shall be specified in the By-laws.

Section 5. Vacancies occurring during the term of office shall be filled for the remainder of the term by the Executive Board, with the exception of

position of Co-Captain. That office will be filled by a vote of the membership.

Article V - Executive Board and Board

Section 1. The Executive Board shall consist of elected officers only.

Section 2. The Board shall consist of elected officers, committee chairpersons, and past Captain.

Article VI - Meetings

Section 1. The general meeting shall be held on or near the date of the opening of the golf season. The date of the meeting will be determined by the Executive Board and will be published in the directory. Other meetings will be held after golf on designated Tuesdays.

Section 2. Special meetings may be called by the Captain or the Executive Board.

Section 3. The Board will meet at the discretion of the Captain, or may be called by the Board members.

Section 4. The official opening of the golf season will be the first Tuesday in March.

Article VII - Amendments and Revisions

Section 1. A proposed amendment or revision to the Constitution or By-Laws shall be posted at the pro shop one month prior to being presented to the membership for vote.

Article VIII - Parliamentary Rules

All meetings and parliamentary questions must conform to Roberts Rules of Order.
